Alberto Garay

Alberto promotes his new production Caer by performing his songs that range from pop ballads to heartfelt Rock en Español compositions. Songs that make you reminisce of relationships and love.

Alexis Alfaro

Classically trained from University of San Diego, Alexis Alfaro has performed Opera and Light Opera in different local productions. He performs in Spanish, Italian and German selections from Stefano Donaudi, Fernando Oradors, and Robert Schuman.

AquadelfinAquadelfin

Cuando el Espirtu se Libera is the title of the first full length album by Aquadelfin. In this album you will find that these new emerging artists from Tijuana have found their own style by combining acoustic instruments with electronic grooves.

Ballet Folklorico Olive Elementary School

The basis of every culture is their song, music and most importantly dance performance. These young performers are not only retracing dance steps of their ancestors but, most importantly carrying on the traditions of life.

Brujas y BellasBrujas y Bellas

The Brujas y Bellas collective is a group of woman who support one another in their writing through constructive criticism, workshops and performance. They formed in response to the lack of venues and writing groups for Chicanas to share and refine their writing.

Cabeza de VacaCabeza de Vaca

This local band has been exciting crowds from the South Bay to North County. Rock en Español, Jazz, and Salsa altogether in a fun and exciting mix that gets the crowd dancing.

Capoeria Brasil Cultural Center

Capoeria is a martial art form that intergrates sport, dance, song and music. This center has opened its doors to the San Diego Community to promote Brazilian culture and its universal appeal.

Curanderos

CuranderosCombining cosmic guitar noise, Flamenco strummed power chords, and beautiful melodies, Curanderos creates art reminiscent of early Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, and Santana. Curanderos features the quirky lead vocals of Mario Lomar, hypnotic “Psyche-Latin” guitar style of Larrhy Ruiz, complimented by the melodic Rick Lomar (Bass), and the hard-hitting Diego Palacios on drums.

Danza Mixcoatl & Friends

This group represents the undeniable indigenous roots of Mexico. Danza is the basis of daily rituals to give thanks for all the blessings in life. They come to the festival to perform their blessing for the success of the 2004 San Diego Latino Film Festival.

DiexDiex

This Argentino’s singer/composer takes all the elements of his childhood, tango, pop-brit, and jazz to the piano and brings it all together in upbeat music. From Los Angeles he comes to the festival to share new material from his upcoming album.

Dunya Dance TheatreDunya Dance Theater (Dance Troupe)

Dunya Dance Theater, under the Direction of Angell Estrada, creates world dance fusion with grace and cultural integrity. Dunya, the Arabic word for world, illustrates the concept for the group. Rooted in Middle-Eastern dance and sprouting with exploration, Dunya blooms with the diversity of life.

Emaue

EmaueOne of San Diego’s most popular Rock en Español comes to the festival with a new twist. They will perform an acoustic set that would gives a new touch to their hard-hitting songs.

Espiral de Huellas

An interdisciplinary fusion of visual artists, poets, and musicians from San Diego and Tijuana, meet in this Spiral of Prints. All disciplines have coincided in the search of the first manifestations of humanity.

Fusion Force/Vitality Dance Troupe

Fusion Force is a group of talented individuals working together to create powerful entertainment and positive role models. Vitality Dance Company is a group with a focus on jazz and self-expression through dance and movement.

Grupo Azufre de Javier Amaro

Azufre is a fusion of acoustic songs from ranchero to blues and pop to rock. Like his name, his music and lyrics are tangible, red hot and lots of fun.

Los CuranderosLos Curanderos

This young group of drummers and dancers are inspired by Afro-Cuban rhythms and dance. They blend together their talents in dance and music to promote unity in their community. You can often catch them at the Chula Vista Youth Center, El Carribe and numerous special events.

Majesty in Motion

One of San Diego’s hottest salsa dance troupe joins us to heat up the evening. These young talented dancers take their love for music, from Hip-Hop to Mambo, and put together an explosive performance of traditional and modern salsa.

Marcelo Berestovoy

His music brings different guitar rhythms from the south’s of the world, Argentina, Spain and California. This Argentinian artist, composer and guitarist has worked with many including Jessica Simpson, Daniela Romo, to Ricky Martin.

Mariachi ContinentalMariachi Continental

The San Diego Latino Film Festival would not be a complete fiesta without the trumpets, violins, and harmonic voices of Mariachi Continental. This youthful group brings Mexico’s trademark musical traditions to San Diego. They have shared the stage with great singers such as Marco Antonio Solis and Nydia Rojas.

Mario Carillo

Mario performs his renditions of songs of his father, Alvaro Carillo. Who does not know the songs Sabor a Mi or Cancionero? You will enjoy all these classics with Mario’s modern subtlety that takes us back to love.

Norma Angelica GamboaNorma Angelica Gamboa

Norma, born in Tijuana, has extensive preparation in many styles of dance. Here she will show forth her years of preparation in dance and body expression using music of our Latino Culture.

Tomas Cadena y El Sapo Cancionero

Tomas Cadena is a trovador par excellence. His versitality between boleros, milongos, sambas and chilenas allows him to interpret songs of prestigious Latinamerican composors with spontaneous fluidity.
