NALIP 2001 Conference Scholarship Guidelines:

Thank you for your interest in NALIP’s Third Annual Conference. This year’s program, Storytelling in the Digital Age, promises a rich exchange of information and creative thought.

NALIP has designated a portion of its Conference budget towards a limited number of travel and accommodation scholarships. We regret that there are not so many as in previous years: fundraising has been particularly difficult in the post-September 11 climate. However, we want to encourage as many of you as possible to take advantage of this opportunity for networking and professional development. So…here are the Guidelines to Qualify for a Conference Scholarship:

  1. You must be a NALIP member. Click here.
  2. You must be registered as a paid Conference participant. Click here.
  3. You must fill out the form below by NOVEMBER 10, 2001
  4. You must email OR fax the form to TWO addresses:
    Beni@nalip.org / fax: 212.727.0549 Attn: BENI
    Nalip_kfg@msn.com / fax: 310.589.9997 Attn: Kathryn
  5. OR click submit below to submit the form from this Web site

There are two levels of scholarship available based on Geography:

  1. A $150. Scholarship for applicants who live West of Texas
  2. A $250. Scholarship for applicants who live in and east of Texas

You may use these funds towards travel and hotel. For assistance in discount air and accommodation rates, contact Conference Coordinator Ethan van Thillo at 619.230.1938 or sdlff@home.com. Stipends will be awarded by mid-November and distributed with your registration packet, picked up at the Conference Registration Table in La Jolla.

Furthermore, there are ten Work/Study grants available for applicants who are willing to take detailed notes of the panels, transcribe/summarize those panels and post them on-line at www.nalip.org. Student members of NALIP will have first priority on these grants, and there are far far fewer of them than the general subsidies.
