With an Aficionado membership you have the outstanding opportunity for direct access to Media Arts Center San Diego's "Cinema en tu Idioma", a monthly showcase of Spanish-language cinema, the annual "Cine Mexicano: Mexican Film Series", and the annual San Diego Latino Film Festival. Thanks to supporters like you, Media Arts Center San Diego's San Diego Latino Film Festival is now one of the larger and most well-respected Latino film festivals in the country. Since the early 1990s, over 81,000 people have attended, 600 films from across Latin America and the United States have had their premiers here, and over 5,200 youth have participated in the festival and our non-profit organization's other various exhibition and educational programs (i.e. Teen Producers Project). With your Aficionado membership you'll be surprised and delighted to meet numerous film personalities. Past stars include: Gael Garcia Bernal, Alfonso Cuaron, Diego Luna, Carlos Carrera, Lupe Ontiveros, Ray Bradbury, Lourdes Portillo, Gregory Nava, Edward James Olmos, Paul Rodriguez, and Luis Valdez. Plus, by becoming an Aficionado member you'll be sending a clear message to Hollywood that you and many others in this region want to see a more accurate portrayal of Latino stories and images on the big screen and television.
