IMAGINING ARGENTINA is set in Argentina during the political upheavals of the 1970’s. It is the story of one man’s love for his wife, his daughter, and his country. IMAGINING ARGENTINA shows the impact of the government’s brutal policy of secret abductions when children’s theater director, Carlos Rueda’s (Antonio Banderas) journalist wife, Cecilia, (Emma Thompson) disappears after writing an article critical of the government. Based on the award-winning novel by Lawrence Thornton, this film features passionate performances by Antonio Banderas, Academy-award winner Emma Thompson, actor/musician Ruben Blades, and Mexican hearththrob Kuno Becker. From Christopher Hampton, the Academy award-winning director of DANGEROUS LIASONS.
