De La Calle is an adaptation of Jesús Gonzáles Dávila's successful play portraying the tragic story of Rufino, a fifteen year old orphan who lives on the streets of Mexico City. Rufino earns money by doing odd jobs and participating in the drug deals of La Seño and El Ochoa, a judicial policeman without scruples who controls the neighborhood in which they live. One day, driven by circumstances, Rufino steals money from El Ochoa, unleashing the persecution and harassment of the policeman. Just as Rufino decides to flee, he is told that his real father is still alive and he embarks upon a crazed quest to find his father.
