Demasiado Amor
Karina Gidi as Beatriz in Demasiado Amor.
Just released in Mexico, Demasiado Amor is an entertaining romantic comedy that makes you want to pack your bags and travel throughout Mexico. The exquisite cinematography depicting various beautiful locations in Mexico is the work of Gabriel Figueroa Jr. (SDLFF 1998), the son of one of the greatest cinematographers of all times (Gabriel Figueroa). The film follows two sisters, Beatriz and Laura who have a dream: to go to another country, set up a boarding house and live off their rent income. They have been planning it for years and, finally, overburdened by the crisis and routine, one day they decide that one of them must leave and get the project started. They leave it to chance. And luck has it that her sister, and not Beatriz, will leave first. In her loneliness, Beatriz begins to live three different lives and three different dreams. On the one hand, is that of joining her sister in Spain, on the other hand, that of certain easy loves, and finally, that of a true and passionate love. In the process, Beatriz will take a long journey to her self-interior. A trip that will take her to conclude that the happiness is not abroad, and that will allow her to recognize, to rediscover and to accept herself.  Demasiado Amor also has a great soundtrack which includes the hit song "Acaríciame" recorded for the film by Mexican singing sensation Julieta Venegas. Ms. Vengas' most recent work can be heard also on the hit film Amores Perros ("Me Van a Matar").

What the press in Mexico say about Demasiado Amor...
