Media Arts Center San Diego (www.mediaartscenter.org), in cooperation with the Association of Independent Video & Film Makers - San Diego Salon, is proud to present...

"DIRECTING THE INDEPENDENT FEATURE", an informative seminar and discussion with visiting filmmaker Juan Carlos de Llaca. The talk will take place this Saturday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Madstone Theaters Hazard Center (7510 Hazard Center Dr., Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92108).

Thinking of making your first feature film? Don't miss this opportunity to learn from someone who has gone through the process, distributed his films commercially, and has participated in film festivals throughout the world!

Mr. de Llaca will be showing clips of his two feature films ("En el Aire" and "Por la Libre" / "Dust to Dust") as he discusses pre-production, production, post-production and distribution of an independent 35mm feature film. After the 1.5 hour seminar, attendees will be given the opportunity to see Mr. de Llaca's popular feature film ("Por la Libre" / "Dust to Dust") in 35mm!

Juan Carlos de Llaca has produced two feature films, both of which have been released commercially in Mexico. His last film, "Por la Libre" / "Dust to Dust" was produced by Mexico's premier production company, Altavista; the same producers of the acclaimed "Amorres Perros." Mr. de Llaca's short film, "Me Voy a Escapar", competed in the "Official Selection" of the famous Cannes Film Festival.

Tickets are $8 General Admission and $6 Students/ MACSD/AIVF Members. This price includes seminar AND 12:45 p.m. screening of "Por la Libre" / "Dust to Dust". Tickets can be purchased at the Madstone Theaters Hazard Center Box Office (7510 Hazard Center Dr., Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92108) on day of the seminar.
