Arte Latino Exhibit
November 13-14 at Mann Theatres Hazard Center The 2004 Cinema en Tu Idioma film series is proud to bring you the work of two excellent Latino artists as part of the new "Arte Latino" component of the series. We believe that the filmgoing experience should be enjoyed long after you leave the theater. To that end we invite you to come in early and enjoy the art, have some coffee or Chai, or linger after the films and take in the Festival atmosphere and scenery that the art provides. Arte Latino began as part of the monthly Cine Mexicano series in 2003, and will continue in 2004. The Arte Latino series has showcased the work of such artists as Jorge MacFarland, Alma Lopez, Bill Olivas, Carmen Kalo, Jose Ramirez, Nuvia Guerra, Ricardo Islas, Bob Rob Medina, David Collazo, Gerardo, Yolanda Romero and Perry Vasquez and Victor Payan (Keep on Crossin©), Roberto Pozos, and Cipriano Pozos. The "Arte Latino" Exhibit will be placed at Mann Theatres Hazard Center throughout the year, changing monthly. This month's participating Latino artist is: |

"A
childhood artist, fourth generation native of Baja California, with
a Masters level education in the United States. Thirty years personal
experience utilizing oil pigments, watercolors, acrylics, pastels,
and charcoal on both paper and canvas, with over 15 of these years
in the fine art industry as an active and art-exhibiting artist. paint
because I love it, to me it is unrestriced and free, with discoveries
in every stroke. My professional work as a designer is calculated
and precise, so with my paintings I let the decisions flow free from
influences. It is my way of expressing through paint."
An
art education that includes drawing, painting and art history classes
in both Mexico and the United States. Ms. Diaz has an advanced level
knowledge of artistic principals and styles, pigment manipulation,
color analysis, presentation principles and practices, marketing issues,
and the art industry.
