Beginning with the seminal Conversaciones sobre la Cinematografía of May 1955, these filmmakers dedicated themselves to injecting elements of neo-realism and social criticism into an artform and an industry that they considered politically, socially, intellectually and aesthetically false. Featuring clips from films such as Nueve Cartas a Berta, Del Rosa al Amarillo, and Los Golfos o La Tía Tula, the documentary captures the spirit of Salamanca of the 1950s and 60s during the height of the Franco regime. |
